MEDIA ADVISORY: New Year, New Council: Lynchburg Democrats for City Council Announce Campaign Launch
Lynchburg Democratic candidates will officially launch their campaign at the base of Monument Terrace on Tuesday
Lynchburg, Virginia (January 15, 2026) — On Tuesday, January 20th, Lynchburg Better Together (LBT) will publicly introduce its slate of nominees for the 2026 At-Large City Council election.
LBT will hold a press conference at 12:00 p.m. at Monument Terrace (900 block of Church Street). This will be a moment of clarity, optimism, and forward momentum—and a welcome contrast to the ongoing dysfunction that has come to define City Council politics.
Three exceptional community members have stepped forward to run, and attendees at the press conference will be the first to hear from them directly.
If you cannot attend at noon, there is a second opportunity that evening. The candidates will join the Lynchburg Democratic Committee’s monthly meeting at 7:00 p.m. at the Miller Center (301 Grove Street). The meeting is open to the public.
We hope you will join us—at midday, in the evening, or both—as we begin the next chapter of this work together.
A detailed biography of each candidate and their press conference remarks will be available in a press packet distributed at the press conference and LDC meeting and posted on www.lynchburgbettertogether.org after the announcement.
